States drain unemployment trust funds
State unemployment insurance trust funds are rapidly running out of money amid soaring job losses.
This is prompting state officials to consider raising employer taxes or curtailing benefits, while forcing them to borrow from the federal government to cover claims.
I wonder if extensions of unemployment benefits have anything to do with this?
Isn’t that one of the things the Democrats are promising to do?
How are they going to pay for it? Just print more money (ie. inflation?) or borrow the money from the Chinese and Arabs? Whichever we’re going to end up paying the bill, or at least our grandchildren will.
